A Gravel Obliteride

  • On Sunday, August 11, 2024, the day after the official Obliteride ride day, some of us Spiders and others will be riding a gravel bicycle ride

  • We refer to this as "Ogriteride", and it tends to start/finish at the Hyak Sno-Park parking lot (map).

  • Some Ogriteriders bring post-ride food, beverages, and camp chairs to unwind before heading home.

  • In the "ride your ride" spirit of the Willy Nilly, this is an unstructured thing that just happens organically...people choose their own start time, ride route, etc.

  • Please note: we're absolutely not organizing a ride here, and thus, we take no responsibility for the actions of anyone else who happens to be out riding their bicycle in public on Ogriteride day...other than the actions of our individual selves, of course.

  • Gravel route courses of varied distances and difficulty levels abound in the area of Hyak Sno-Park...whether on the flats of the Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (formerly the John Wayne Pioneer Trail, and the Iron Horse Trail), or in the surrounding mountains.

  • In the past, some Obliteriders have treated the Ogriteride as their single Obliteride ride that weekend, while others have elected to ride both.

  • Maybe we'll see some other fans of Fred Hutch out riding their rides on Ogriteride day?
